THE REASON WHY SKIN AGES – PART 1
We can think skin is fragile, but it actually provides a strong and durable covering for the body. Skin protects from heat and cold. It protects from dehydration as well as from infections. Besides being important for the physical health, the skin is also important for your emotional health. At the end of the day, the way we look like is, in general, an expression of how we feel. Of course, care and some dose of common sense are needed to keep the skin fresh and smooth. Diet is as important as exercise.
There is a wide variety of lotions, creams and other skin care products, most of which can be useful in face skin care. Nevertheless, as we get old, the effect of time begins to show. The most common problems we face are skin flaccidity, spots and wrinkles.
We are going to talk about three different cosmetic procedures that can be performed nowadays and that have proved to be effective in the treatment of aging skin.
REPLACEMENT TREATMENT
A non-surgical procedure that consists in replacing the natural protein inside the skin in order to soften wrinkles.
REGENERATION TREATMENT
A few surgical procedures that are useful to stimulate the regeneration of a smoother cutaneous surface.
FACELIFT TREATMENT
A surgical procedure in which the excess face skin is eliminated. Before choosing one of these therapeutic modalities, it is important for you to understand how they function, for each of the treatments has pros and cons according to the cutaneous disorder. However, to understand better the treatment techniques, it will be useful to know more about the skin itself.
A CLOSER LOOK AT SKIN
Skin is composed of two layers. The epidermis, which is the upper layer, renews itself constantly by producing new cells that are originated in the lower levels and displace the older cells in the surface.
The dermis is immediately beneath the epidermis. It contains hair follicles, blood vessels, nerves and some special glands that lubricate and protect the skin. The dermis can be seen as the foundations of a house given that it constitutes the skin base and gives the skin its structure. It is essentially made up of collagen, a protein that can be found in all the parts of the body. be continued…
