Micropigmentation

Description:

Micropigmentation of the scalp is an innovative and non-surgical treatment for alopecia and camouflage of post-surgical scars, disguises natural hair loss and thinning of hair; It can also be used to camouflage post surgical scars and is effective on all skin types and hair colors.

A special biological ink (not the one used in tattoos or permanent make-up) is introduced into the upper layer of the skin to simulate the appearance of shaved hair.

To simulate such appearance, a high quality computer-controlled pen with a microscopic needle is used and it looks for the correct skin layer. Such needles are designed specifically for this technique and they directly achieve the effect of shaved hair. The treatment is practically painless, doesn’t leave scars and it gets immediate results!

In which cases can Scalp Micropigmentation be used as an alternative to surgery?

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) may be an alternative to surgery in the case of candidates who don’t have healthy hair of adequate density in the donor areas or have Universal Alopecia. This technique can be recommended for patients who have thin hair but are not yet ready for surgery. Scalp Micropigmentation is also a good alternative for women with makeup allergy (although the procedure has been designed to improve appearance, not to replace make-up). This technique is very safe both before and after surgery, as long as it is performed within the recommended period.

Is Scalp Micropigmentation permanent?

Micropigmentation of the Scalp is not permanent as it fades over time. Unlike common tattoos, the color does not change, but it dissipates evenly.

How much recovery time is needed?

Very little recovery or downtime is required. In general, patients can resume most of their normal activities within 24 hours.

How Long Does Scalp Micropigmentation Last?

The duration of treatment depends on the following factors::

  • Phagocytosis power – The ability of different cells in the body to ingest foreign bodies and then destroy them.
  • Age of the patient – Pigments are inoculated into the superficial layers of the dermis, so with the natural renewal of the cells these tend to be expelled slowly. A young patient has a greater cellular regeneration capacity than an older adult, so the treatment tends to be less effective in the latter.
  • Lifestyle
  • Frequency of Washing
  • Products for Washing
  • Sports Activities – for swimming enthusiasts, who regularly expose their skin to chlorine, a strong sterilizing and bleaching agent that speeds natural cell renewal, Scalp Micropigmentation may not be the best choice.
  • Exposure to sunlight – Direct exposure to sunlight can accelerate the disappearance of treatment, as it increases the body’s natural phagocytosis.
